The SHIFT project was featured at IEEE Radio and Wireless Week (RWW) 2026, which took place from 18 to 21 January in Los Angeles/Hollywood, California, USA.
As part of the programme, research from SHIFT’s Work Package 4.3 was presented through a conference paper entitled “A 6.4–8.5 GHz BiCMOS Power Amplifier with 24 dBm Psat and 37.7% PAE in B55X for 5G-NR FR1 and 6G FR3 Dual Band Application”.
The paper was co-authored by Paul Rezette, Nathalie Deltimple, Kerherve Eric and Magali De Matos. It showcased advances in RF power amplifier design, highlighting developments aimed at improving efficiency and performance for next-generation wireless systems.
Radio & Wireless Week 2026 brought together the international RF and microwave community with a strong focus on space RF technologies, reflecting both the growing impact of space-based systems and the region’s proximity to major space industry hubs. The event featured high-profile plenary talks on advancements from MHz to THz technologies and the evolution of modern network analysers in SATCOM and 6G, alongside a comprehensive technical programme spanning five topical sub-conferences and ARFTG. The week also included workshops, panel sessions and short courses, presentations by the 2026 class of MTT-S Distinguished Microwave Lecturers, and the 8th IEEE Internet of Things Vertical and Topical Summit, which explored the impact of artificial intelligence on wireless IoT systems. Professional development and community engagement were supported through Women in Microwaves and Young Professionals sessions, a joint ARFTG & RWW industry exhibition and reception, and the Student Paper Contest, which highlighted emerging talent through elevator pitches and poster sessions. Additional highlights included MTT Space Night, expanded journal presentation sessions in collaboration with IEEE MTT-S journals, and, for a limited number of early registrants, a first-ever organised tour of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
