SHIFT Consortium Celebrates World Telecommunications Day

On May 17, the SHIFT Project joins in celebrating World Telecommunications Day, a day

dedicated to recognizing the incredible impact of telecommunications in bridging distances, fostering innovation, and transforming lives around the globe. Established in 1969, this day honours the founding of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and commemorates the signing of the first International Telegraph Convention in 1865. The Plenipotentiary Conference in Malaga-Torremolinos officially designated the day in 1973, marking it as an annual event dedicated to the significance of global communication.

Telecommunications continues to play a pivotal role in shaping the world, enabling

collaboration across borders and driving technological progress. At SHIFT Project, we’re

proud to be part of this transformative industry. Our work, along with that of our dedicated partners and the global telecommunications community, is crucial in pushing the boundaries of innovation and connectivity.

To our talented team, partners, and everyone contributing to this field—thank you for your dedication and creativity, which make an impact every day. As we celebrate today, let’s look ahead to a future filled with new possibilities, where together we can continue to expand the horizons of global connectivity.

Happy World Telecommunications Day from the SHIFT Project!
